Myddleton Road Market has been awarded best Small Community Market at the Great British Market Awards. At an event in Myddleton Road last night, Graham Wilson Chief Executive of awarding organisation NABMA, and President of NABMA, Mick Barker met with market organiser Lucy Whitehead and market volunteers to present the award.

Myddleton Road Market stood out among the entrants for its commitment to community activities, regeneration and local enterprises.

Graham Wilson said:

“In becoming the winner of the small community market award of the Great British Market Awards the judges were impressed by the enthusiasm of the market organisers and the fact that the market is a happy and colourful place with different activities and a varied offer. The market offers opportunities for new businesses and established traders and is clearly making an important contribution to community life.”

Myddleton Road Market currently running quarterly in Bowes Park. The next market takes place on Sunday 22nd March 11am-4pm, with 25 stalls offering street food, fresh farm produce, preserves, arts and crafts, vintage and jewellery. There will also be music from Love For Sale live jazz band. See you there!
