Dear Bounds Green residents and business owners,

I would like to update you on two positive recent results on Myddleton Road, which have been achieved due to extremely useful information supplied by residents and business owners on the road.

1) Brothel closure:

Officers from Bounds Green Safer Neighbourhoods Team have closed a brothel on Myddleton Road. Information had been received by residents that three females were using the address and had males visiting at all times of the day and night. Aside from the anti-social aspect of living close to a brothel, the other factor to consider is: are the women working there doing so of their own free will? A lot of research was conducted to ensure that the women there were not victims of trafficking and had they been, provisions had been set aside to assist them escape their situation. On this occassion, there was no evidence of trafficking having occurred and therefore the workers at the brothel were instructed to officially cease activity and it appears that this has now happened and the address is no longer being used as a brothel.

2) Early Morning Warrant

Officers from Bounds Green Safer Neighbourhoods Team entered an address having obtained a warrant from a magistrate based on information provided by the local community. Two arrests were made for handling stolen goods, after various items believed to have been stolen from motor vehicles were found in the address. The males in question are currently on bail as enquiries continue.
