RBS and NatWest to refund thousands of customers wrongly charged interest for student overdrafts going back 14 years

Tens of thousands of bank customers are due a refund after Royal Bank of Scotland wrongly charged students interest on their overdrafts — over a 14-year period.

RBS and NatWest, which are part of the RBS Group, offered students interest-free overdrafts.

Often customers were offered the option of raising their limit mid-way through their course.
