The New River Path between Myddleton Road and Whittington Road has been closed for quite a while now and just wondered if anybody had the actual reason rather the local rumour mill?

I've heard everything including heavy rain rendering the bank waterlogged and unsafe, regular anti-social behaviour along there from the local hoodlums, people were camping on there so they closed it down, a pair of rare ducks were nesting on the bank so the RSPB intervened and finally a troll has taken up residence underneath the tunnel and has been scaring children.

Anyone know the truth? And also will it be reopened any time soon? It is such a lovely spot, particularly in the summer.

Yeah ... I heard that about the Trolls too ... I reckon that's the genuine reason. :)
