The Faith & Community School

Opening September 2015 in Edmonton/Palmers Green

We are currently developing an application for a new state funded Primary School in the Edmonton/Palmers Green area. This is an invitation for you to support us from the wider local community, and/or to come to one of our informal meetings to find out whether this could be the school you would like your child/children to attend...

Come and meet the team at one of our community events:

SAT 25 January from 11.00 – 3.00 at
Green Towers Community Centre, Edmonton N9 OBU

SAT 1 February from 11.00 – 3.00 at
Trinity-at-Bowes Community Centre, Palmerston Rd N22 BRA

We are proposing to establish a two form entry primary school beginning with reception age children school in Edmonton and Palmers Green. The school will open in September 2015 and will be state funded through the Government Free Schools initiative.

This will be a Muslim school open to children of all faiths and no faith. Our aim is to develop children into well educated, integrated, caring members of British society who will participate fully and add real value to our community.

Our Rationale

A strong literacy focused curriculum is required in the borough of Enfield. With an increasing Muslim population, now accounting for 16.7% of residents and English as an additional language spoken by 48.3% of the pupil population; our rationale is to attain high literacy standards at primary level so that children have the tools to succeed at secondary school.

Our Vision

Provide excellence in teaching and learning through ensuring each child reaches their potential by Year 6. We will nurture and monitor self-esteem to develop happy, self confident children, ready for progression.

Pursue high achievement and aspiration for all abilities by personalised learning action plans and appropriate support.

Demonstrate inclusiveness and diversity by welcoming children of all faiths and no faith, teaching understanding and respect for one another.

Nurture personal well-being by encouraging participation in a wide range of activities, including the arts, drama and sports.

Promote religious practice and cultural identity across religious beliefs to demonstrate shared human and ethical values.

Develop community involvement as part of school life welcoming local residents and business people to take part in a variety of activities and visiting places of shared interests.

Your support

It is essential to our application that we demonstrate local demand for this unique school before submitting our application to the Department for Education.

Please register your interest in sending your child to The Faith and Community School by the end of January 2014. Simply complete the Demand Survey by clicking on this link.
