NHS Trust eployees promised employment app by jeremy Hunt in Conference Speech sat Manchester

In his speech at the Conservative Party Conference the Secretary of State, Health, Jeremy Hunt promised the introduction of a technical web based application to facilitate logging on for additional hospital shifts.

In subsequent coverage on LBC , NHS contributors queried the alleged benefits of the promised app as:

  • their insurance required that their employment was already only at the SAME NHS Trust
  • NHS Hospital  Trusts were already introducing shift e-rostering on which medical staff could offer to undertake "bank" shifts
  • When undertaking "bank shifts" the pay offered was the lowest for the employee grade for the post  and not the "real grade" of the employee
