Here is a lovely story from LB Haringey about the 1948 Olympic Torch which was used as a baton for London's biggest ever walking relay event, children from one of our local schools, Bounds Green were involved.

The torch, which is currently owned by Lord Jeffrey Archer, was relayed through Haringey this week by pupils and teachers from Ferry Lane and Bounds Green Primary Schools, in aid of the Big Wow (Walk Once a Week) 2010, campaign.

The Big Wow campaign urges people to walk once a week and organised the three-week long mass relay to get the message home.

The picture below shows children and staff from Bounds Green Primary School with the torch.
