Ovi, the legendary egg-eating dinosaur of Myddleton Road has been removed in the past couple of days.

I snapped Ovi on Wednesday and today, to my dismay, I realised that he had been snatched.

Ovi appears to have been a victim of refurbishments at the former Zara Fish Bar. His plinth now stands empty.

Work at the same site has uncovered the original sign for Anita's Hair Fashions, which is nice.

But the big questions are: Where is Ovi? & When will he make a return?

Let's hope they put him inside to prevent him getting damaged....

Roofers have a tendency to keep such things: years ago we lost a terracotta dragon on the roof opposite us on the old vicarage in Maryland Road when it was re-roofed.  Do they keep them as treasures in their own collections I wonder, or sell them on to more wealthy clients?

I wonder if its worth asking them where it is?

Definitely!!

Er... let me know how you get on...  :)

Peter..?!?

I'm really affected by this missing dinosaur :((

has anyone approached the owners so they can ask the scaffolding men what happened to it?

Previous PR write up about him shown here!
