A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
The Palmers Greenery, based in Broomfield Park, celebrated it's first birthday last month: One year as volunteer-run community cafe! To celebrate a short film was made by the brilliant Palmers Green Tales oral history project (See below)
The cafe is dependent on volunteers to open up and serve drinks and cakes. The longer summer days mean they operate on three shifts (2-3 hrs each ) instead of two per day meaning greater demands on volunteers' time. So more volunteers are needed to keep the cafe open all day.
If you are interested in helping keep the Palmers Greenery serving tea and cake in the park they always need more volunteers; have a look at their website and register your details by filling in the survey form www.friendsofbroomfieldpark.org or connect via their Facebook Page.

Great, a cafe was needed there, and the cakes are great!
Do think about volunteering, one shift a month will make you part of the team, it's a great help and fun too. The video explains all, then simply go to www.friendsofbroomfieldpark.org/cafe and fill in "survey".
Just fantastic - really inspiring film and the cafe looks wonderful. I am thinking about volunteering...
