News this week that Enfield Council are considering tackling the severe shortage of school places by building a new two-form entry primary school - withing Grovelands Park.

In a letter circulated to residents living adjacent o the site Enfield Council Assistant Director of Regeneration Leisure and Libraries Garry Barnes states:

The Council has started a commissioning process to appoint external consultants to undertake an historic parks survey and to develop a management plan for the park, which will be used to develop options both in terms of introducing a two form entry primary school and improving the current sporting facilities.

The letter stresses that this is an early part the process - a process that could become quite extended - An initial meeting to gauge response and hear more about the plans has been arranged for Today July18th at 4:00pm in the Canteen of Southgate College - not a great time for a public meeting... but there are likely to be many more consultation opportunities
