The rainbow flag was flying over Haringey Civic Centre this morning to mark the first day that that gay couples have been able to register their weddings.

Haringey's first equal weddings will take place - like many other part of the country - on the day they become legal: 29 March - so registration has to be completed today.

One couple posted this image on Twitter taken on arrival to register their marriage.

It's not the first time Haringey has flown the raimbow flag - it was also flown last May as the borough showed its support for International Day against Homophobia.
