Today is Tweflth Night and traditionally the day to take down Christmas decorations (if they havent already gone!).

It's easier than ever to recycle your Christmas Tree - both of our local councils will collect along with other green waste as part of their kerbside recycling schemes and the trees are chipped for use in our local parks.

Obvioulsy all lights and decorations must be removed. Haringey Council request that larger trees are cut down to a maximum of 1 Metre (3 ft) sections - whilst Enfield Council suggest they can cope with trees up to 6 feet tall.

If you live in a flat  - or do not get regular green waste collections - Christmas trees can be taken to collection points across both boroughs - our nearest are at

  • Albert Road Recreation Ground (staff yard), Bidwell Gardens, N11(until Jan 16th)
  • Broomfield Park N13 (until Jan 9th)
