A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
The 4th of July has been adopted by the UK leading national business organisations as the day to celebrate the contribution of independent businesses to our local High Streets. The Bowes & Bounds forum is very supportive of our local independent traders we've run cash mobs and celebrated our local market, start-up shops and cafes; here's another way to get involved
Shoppers are being encouraged to show their love for local independent businesses this Saturday by sharing a selfie on Twitter of their favourite trader for the chance to win a special prize.
The Selfie with an Indie campaign, organised by traders groups across the borough and supported by Haringey Council, aims to encourage even more people to realise the incredible range of businesses on their doorstep.
Independents’ Day, organised by the National Skills Academy for Retail, is in its fourth year and is a nationwide event timed to coincide with 4 July Independence Day celebrations in the USA. The campaign also aims to raise awareness about training and business support available to independent traders in England to help them grow and survive through difficult economic periods.
Shoppers who snap a photo of themselves in their favourite local store on Saturday can share it on Twitter using the hashtag #haringeyindieday – with local traders groups picking the most fun and creative selfies from Tottenham, Wood Green, Crouch End, Harringay and Muswell Hill for a special prize!
Selfies must be submitted by 9pm Saturday 4th July 2015. The winning customers must keep their receipts from the shop the Selfie was taken in order to claim the prize.
