WASTE COLLECTIONS DURING SEVERE WEATHER
Severe weather has affected waste collections this week, with icy pavements and side streets causing problems.

Haringey Council and waste contractors Veolia are aiming to complete the fortnightly refuse collections scheduled for this week wherever possible, and will attempt to pick up recycling at the same time.

Collections are likely to be one day behind, until the backlog is clear and normal schedules are resumed. If necessary the crews will work this Saturday to catch up.

If the lorries are unable to collect some or all of your recycling this week they will make a double collection next week. Please try to compress bulky recyclable items like cartons and cardboard boxes to make sure that as much recycling as possible fits into the recycling wheelie bins and bags.

Enfield schools were largely closed on Monday details are on individual school websites - all collated on one page from the borough website.

Haringey Council is announcing updates via Twitter and website Info on Haringey school closures was updated as it became known.

All local schools are expected to be open for the rest of the week - except Broomfield School which is experiencing problems with their heating system and are only opening for year 11 and examination students.
