Has anybody tried eating in the Springfield Tavern?  I believe that it has had a refurb but not sure what it is like ?

Yes. Not an exciting menu (standard pub food: wraps, burgers, etc.) but freshly prepared and well priced.

For me, the benchmark of good pub food is how they present their Sausage and Mash.  I have to say that it was very good. good sized portions and well priced.

Admitedly, I did go on a Saturday afternoon, and the TVs were on, so the former 'clientele' they're trying to move away from were out (but not in force).

I have noticed as a result that food prices in the Ranalagh have dropped a bit recently, so they're picking up on the newer threat.

The true test is how the Springfield are in the evenings, which I've yet to attempt.  from the outside, they do appear to have dimmed the lights a bit.

Thanks, will have to give it a try sometime.
