BBC Radio London interviewed the squatters and the story was covered at 6 50 pm, Tuesday June 14th. Its available on the Radio London website.

North London Samaritans commented,

"We understand all too well the concerns around housing in London – many of our callers are affected.  We sympathise with those who have made Shaftsbury Hall a temporary home, but appeal to them to see the bigger picture, and work with us and the law for the benefit of the wider community.

Hundreds of thousands of people in North London, across the boroughs of Enfield, Haringey and Barnet will benefit from the redevelopment of the building as a Samaritans base with modern facilities that allow us to support more people.  It will be accessible to everyone and act as a hub for a range of charities and organisations offering vital services to the whole community.”

We should have more news in the next 7 days or so.
