I am not sure if it is available but there is a recording studio in myddleton road. If my memory serves me, it is near the tailors shop, on the right hand side of the road, going towards the high road. I do not have any information about the owners but there was a planning application made sometime ago,  it was reported in the Bowes park association's website, if this helps.

There are in fact two well renowned recording studios in Myddleton road - the Cowshed studio who we reported on last year with their work at Glastonbury, and Southern Studios who have a terrific track record of producing uncompromising music from a very ordinary looking building.

It would be great to see another new studio setting up locally. Good Luck!

TaB Centre Plus Community Centre at the end of Palmerston Road N22 8RA (Tel: 020 8888 2797) has a sound recording studio, film editing suite and various rooms for hire. Talk to Rickey Nelson, Centre Manager. Charity rates and commercial rates apply.  The community centre is based in the premises of Trinity-at-Bowes Methodist Church. The recording facilities are new and are in the basement below the sports hall with climbing wall, basketball hoops etc.

There are a couple of empty shops on the corner of Whittington Road and Russell Road, including the old Laundrette.

I agree that Chocolate Factory is expensive, and would be interested also in space to paint; it does not have to be an artist studio unless I can share with a couple of people.  I didn't mean to hijack the thread; apologies Laura, though I would be open to sharing space  of course -- also interested to know if anyone knows of a place with  room for this purpose I can affordably rent to work in. Or can offer paintings as payment;-)
