It has been announced that the Olympic Torch will be coming through Haringey on the evening of July 25th 2012. The torch will pass through Alexandra Palace as part of the final lap before the opening ceremony.

A programme has been established to find 8,000 people to carry the Olympic flame on its journey around the UK. The "Moment To Shine" initiative is seeking nominations for "Truly Inspirational" individuals to become Torchbearers. You can make a nomination via the LOCOG website.

The London Organising Committee (LOCOG) have now revealed prototypes of the London 2012 Olympic Torch to be carried by the 8,000 Torchbearers. The winning design features triangular, gold-coloured torch perforated by 8,000 circles representing each of the 8,000 Torchbearers during the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay. Nominations are open for individuals who have made a contribution to their local community Who woud you nominate?

Further details are published today of the London 2012 Olympic torch relay.

The torch will be carried through both Enfield and Haringey on Day 68 of the relay - just two days before arriving at the Olympic stadium at Stratford.
