The Woodcraft Folk - national meeting in Bounds Green this weekend

If you see a bunch of people in green shirts looking lost around Bounds Green over the next couple of days then point them in the direction of Scout Park.

This weekend the Woodcraft Folk will be taking over Scout Park for their Annual Gathering.

Founded in 1925 The Woodcraft Folk is a UK-based educational movement for children and young people, and a registered charity. They aim "to educate and empower young people to be able to participate actively in society, improving their lives and others' through active citizenship."Local groups meet regularly across the country and often get together for camps and activities.

The principles of democracy and and co-operation are central to the way Woodcraft is organised. their core values are that irrespective of social background, status or age all members have an equal say in the decision making process. Annual Gathering is a two day event where a few hundred Woodcraft Folk members get together to plan activity and policy for the forthcoming year.

The weather is not looking good for camping this weekend - but I'm sure the "Woodies" will be made welcome in Bounds Green!
