Hi all! I'd like to let you know about an exciting project that some local residents are getting involved in to figure out how to improve the water quality of Pymmes Brook. Working with the organisation Thames 21, a group of local people is using a computer programme to monitor the water quality along the whole of Pymmes Brook and then to model what changes along each stretch would have the best impact on water quality. As Pymmes Brook flows into the River Lee, and is among the UK's most polluted rivers, it would be great to see it cleaner and healthier, and would bring some benefits to us all in terms of more pleasant green/blue spaces. Contact me, or contact Thames 21 directly if you'd like to join this group - we have only met once so we are right at the beginning of the project, which will run until March 2018.
