So all the traffic will be turning down my road (Wakefield) and Natal road on Sundays for the next couple of weeks.

In my day we were taught that traffic was dangerous so not to play in the road!

Its also funny that motorist are told to use Warwick road as a cut through - sign is in the Haringey part of Bounds Green road ;

The sign in Bounds Green Road directs traffic to turn left onto Warwick Road then turn right onto either Maidstone or York Roads.

You're quite right Barry it does. This sign was introduced some years ago when Haringey banned the left turn at the junction between Bounds Green Road and Brownlow Road at Bounds Green tube (on the grounds of pedestrian safety at that junction).  Now thankfully Enfield are standing with Bowes residents and putting in measures to limit this disgraceful rat run.  Hopefully it will be the first step towards creation of a Low Traffic Neighbourhood in our area, enabling residents to reclaim our streets from pollution and constant traffic.  I appreciate the introduction of the width restriction on Warwick Rd has had its detractors and I understand the width will be increased slightly.  People will get used to it. The play street referred to above is another great example of Warwick Rd residents reclaiming their residential street for local people and their children to live and play in, rather than being subservient to a constant stream of non-local rat-running traffic.
