As part of major road reconstruction around Enfield Borough, this weekend will see significant work taking place in Kelvin Avenue N13.

The work is scheduled to start on Thursday 18th October and carry on until Monday 22nd during this time the road will be closed between 8am and 8pm.

Parking will be unavailable on Kelvin Avenue whilst the works are being carried out - putting pressure on surrounding streets.  If any vehicles are left on Kelvin Avenue during this time they will be relocated, to a nearby, safe location, by contractors.

Interestingly the process will take longer than traditional re-surfacing as the road surface will be recycled in situ and reused to resurface the road. The existing carriageway surface will be crushed; the old aggregates will be blended with cement to produce a new road base to which a new surface is applied

This process involves working at greater depths than traditional resurfacing and therefore some utility services apparatus, i.e. old water service pipes, may be affected by these works.  The London Borough of Enfield are working closely with Thames Water to minimise any disruption to service supplies.
