In 2024, his solo piano EP, ‘Portraits’ was released on Tileyard Records / Warner, with a solo piano recital of the pieces given by Sean at Kings Place Concert Hall, in London.

We’re thrilled to announce that Karamel is back open on Thursday, 4th September, following a short two-week break—and we’re all set to welcome you to an exciting autumn season filled with great music, delicious vegan food, and community warmth!

Sat 6 September | Grass Roots: George Johnson Quartet

Showcasing emerging UK talent, tenor saxophonist and BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year 2024 finalist George Johnson leads a quartet through a dynamic set blending jazz with Latin, soul, art-rock, and hip-hop grooves. Joined by King David Ike-Elechi (drums), Scottie Thompson (keys), and Zaki Osahn (double bass), expect a fresh, mature sound from this youthful ensemble.

 


 

Thu 11 September | ZerOclassikal: Free Flow Classikal

Back by popular demand, this trio—Akash Parekar (sitar), Shivam Pattni (multi-instrumentalist), and Harkiran Sahota (tabla)—offers a deeply moving journey into South Asian classical music translated through free improvisation and bold musical synthesis.

 


 

Fri 12 September | Oxygen: Paul Westwood & Paul Clarvis, featuring John & DJ Dan

Led by bassist-composer Mireia, this Catalan “fusion of immigration” band reimagines ancient folk tunes with funk, Latin, jazz, and Mediterranean-inspired grooves. Their debut album drops this November—come see them live ahead of release!

Thu 18 September | KAIYO 3 with Byron Wallen

Legendary trumpet innovator Byron Wallen joins KAIYO 3 for a transcendent evening of world-jazz. Expect global sounds, guided by a musician with accolades like the BBC Jazz Innovation award and a Paul Hamlyn Award.


 

Fri 19 September | Sheon Toms Trio

At just 21, guitarist-composer Sheon Toms leads an impressive rhythm section—Joe Steyn (drums) and Zaki Osahn (bass)—to present original compositions inspired by George Benson, Branford Marsalis, and Lage Lund. This is fresh, future-forward jazz  .

Fri 26 September | Poetry & Poppadums with Edward Tripp, Laurie Bolger & Alan White

An evening of laugh-out-loud poetry, witty musings, and heartfelt truth. Featuring Edward Tripp’s uniquely absurd humor, Laurie Bolger’s vivid verse, and Alan White’s detailed poetry, all hosted by the charismatic Paul Lyalls. Dining from 6:30 pm makes this a full sensory experience—book early!
