A new community history project is gathering local memories of time spent at The Ranelagh pub.  The project is funded by the national lottery and is being developed by Travelling Tent  - an oral history and arts organisation who research collect community histories and then retell the stories using drama and performance.

If you have a story to tell - get in touch with Travelling Tent  - and leave a note below to spark other people's memories.

I first went in the Ranelagh in 1984.One thing, which looking back now,was quite peculiar was that the only way Ladies in the Public bar could get to there toilets was going out on to the street before re-entering the building at the side where the toilets were.Must have being annoying for them if raining (not that that many women used the Ranelagh public bar in the mid 1980's ! ).
