The St Nicholas Fair on Winchmore Hill Green on Saturday was an enormous success with hundreds of people turning out to enjoy the community spirit. With horse and carriage rides, storytelling, an exciting petting zoo, music , dancing, food and drink, and the grand arrival of St Nicholas himself on horseback, there was plenty to do.

The Green was transformed into a winter wonderland to welcome the local community to another great event put on by the same team that organised the N21 Festival in the Summer.

Local restaurant proprietor Adrian Webb said “It was a marvellous day and so good to see everyone out socialising in such a beautiful space. It’s great for the local community, great for business and it would be wonderful to see it happen again and again.”

Organisers Ann Humphrey and Zoe Ryder said “ We’re really pleased that everyone came out on Saturday. Our events are all about bringing the community together, and see everyone meeting up with old friends, the children having fun and enjoying some food and drink, it’s just brilliant!”

Quite a site to see a horse drawn coach on Winchmore Hill Green:

The setting winter sun provided a dramatic backdrop to St Nicholas arrival on horseback ... distributing handfuls of chocolate coins!

Congratulations to Hugh, Ann and the whole team for organising a truly memorable event.
