A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
Wood Green's oldest building, the Grade II listed Mushroom House within Woodside Park on the High Road is currently for sale. Originally one of a pair of Lodge Houses for the Chitts Hill Estate the "Mushroom House" is on the books of Empire Homes at £234,995 - their website carries full details of the property plus a rare opportunity to see photographs of the interior.
I wonder what will happen to it?

I want it.
I saw it first :) ...
... but I don't have the cool quarter million it needs to buy and bring it up to scratch!
Photos make it seem a bit TARDIS like, bigger on the inside! Wonder if Fatisa will make a bid for it?
I always thought it was a great spot for a nursery, as it used to be many years ago.. It's a shame who ever buys it will probably rent it out and it will be damaged even more...
Incredible to think that this property was sold in an auction originally, and seemingly since has had odd bits of furniture and sofas laying about the garden and outside the property. It's in a bad state of repair and was never done up. It looked more like a storage area, and it is hard to think that people were actually living there. Perhaps the old owners may now be able to afford to live somewhere without boarded up windows, broken windows and curtains. Haringey Council ignored local residents' pleas to put pressure on the old owners to tidy the place up, and now it's been sold for nearly quarter of a million. A café would have been ideal here with the upcoming reconfiguration of Woodside Park which would have worked well. Fatisa however probably wouldn't like it to happen, but look what they did with a disused public toilet. Hope something good comes of this, but I'm not holding my breath.
