Wood Green Underground Station awarded listed building status

An additional sixteen London Underground Stations have been granted listed building status by English Heritage in recognition of their historical and architectural merit.

Of our local Stations Wood Green has been added to the list and joins Bounds Green which was awarded Grade II listed status last year, Arnos Grove has been upgraded to Grade II* as has Oakwood.

Many of the Piccadily Line Stations (particularly at each end of the line) were designed by modernist architect  Charles Holden whose work includes Arnos Grove, Southgate and East Fichley as well as Bounds Green.
