Woodcraft Folk is volunteer-led young people’s organisation working across the UK.

Every week thousands of volunteers and young people meet to learn about big ideas through fun activities like singing, playing, craft activities and debating. Woodcraft Folk groups are open to anyone from the age of 5 upwards who wants to join. The Palmers Green Group meet weekly at Hazelwood school next week they are holding an open evening so parents and children can find out more about the Woodcraft Folk.

Parents of children aged between 5 and 10 are invited to come and find out more, play some games and do a craft activity.

The Woodcraft folk set out their background and ethos:

We are secular, co-educational and committed to positive social change.

Why Join The Woodcraft Folk?

Because we have really strong principles that we live out in our everyday lives and our Woodcraft activities. We believe in peace, sustainability, social justice, friendship, children’s rights and co-operation.

Because we believe that all young people are valuable and important - they have something to offer each other and society. We ensure they can have their say in running the organisation.

Because it’s fun for everyone! And when you join Woodcraft Folk, you’ll have a ready-made network of friendly support.

Because everything in Woodcraft Folk is about teamwork and co-operation. From cooking and washing-up at camps to planning and running our weekly activities, no one is on their own.
