Warning in shop windows

Some members have suggested that we encourage shop owners to display a warning about the clamping in their windows. Seeing as a lot of people are getting clamped out of ignorance this makes a lot of sense.

I know that some of the shop keepers, while sympathetic to our aims, may be reluctant to participate. The problem is that having the notices on display is in the interest of the shopkeepers and their clients but its not in the interest of the clampers.

I think the way to proceed is first to consult with every shop owner on Brownlow Road. We want to make sure that we bring every shop on-board together. There is strength in numbers.

How are we going to make this work?

OPTION Z ;-) This one isn't a real contender:

Hi Kevin

Of the three I think the text is crisp and direct on Options 1 and 2.

Option 2 is clearly about something specific to the location  - so may attract interest.

I think a campaign like this should be scrupulous in avoiding legal challenge. For example any image used (such as your current Option 1) would need to be cleared for copyright before being added to a poster (strictly speaking it shouldn't be published here without permission!) there are also likely to be rules about publishing posters etc (publishers address?) which should be researched and adhered to.

I think the challenge is to find a design and wording that is acceptable to each of the Latham Court shops.

For a poster there is just too much to read on Option Z - but there is something in the sustained metaphor which is good fun. Whilst it may be too jovial to put up as a poster at the site, it may be a way into some interesting press coverage - could you get a group of people to dress up with sheriff's badges - out to catch the cowboys - for a photo opportunity? The local papers might go for something like that as a story?
