Ah yes the upstairs of the Springfield Tavern was a theatre for a while - and it was also used as a Folk Club (follow this link).
The Intimate Theatre still operates up Green Lanes in Palmers Green (David Bowie once appeared there)
Yes I am mixing up two very different places - Park Ridings is at the end of Mayes Road - behind the Wood Green "Shopping City" - Wood Green is still very vibrant today ...
Hi Bob, Sorry but I'm the Robert Austin and your friend was clearly only a Robert Austin ;-)
Bob
How fantastic- I had no idea about the Millicent Martin connection - fascinating- and I believe Keith Moon of the Who also lived on Old Park Ridings for a time?
Glad you liked the Chung Ling Soo item - we seem to have no shortage of quirky local history! I'd be delighted if you wanted to add your reminicesnses, stories or old photographs to the site.
Thank You
Richard
Hello Bob
Welcome to Bowes and Bounds Connected. I hope you'll find it a useful way to connect with neighbours and learn about activities happening locally.
All the small print is in our Terms of Service (and policy on promoting your business) - do let me know if you have any questions - I'll try and answer them.
Have a look around at what’s already on the site and please do join in with the conversations - or start your own. You can upload photographs or add details of relevant local events and invite people to attend; the Help Page explains how.
In addition there are several pages of local information in our resources section.
We send out a weekly e-mail update of what's new - you can read the latest edition online.
Remember, everything you write is public, including comments on other people’s pages.
If you use other social networks you can visit our Facebook Page and follow us on Twitter.
Thanks for Joining In!
Richard
