Need to submit this picture as part of the North Circular Area Action Plan consultation process. This is what we want, proper houses, trees, pavements, nice lamp posts....
A very nice old photo, but looking at the houses, they look more like our Victorian - Edwardian terraced, plus this is a road with no side roads and the unfamiluar geography, I am wondering where on the Bowes Road this is suposed to have been taken? I know the north side of Bowes road, Ritz parade, was open land and fields before New Southgate was developed ,but looking at this picture I am not sure this is our Bowes road, would be interested to find out. There looks to be a church at the top of the road?
I agree it would be a nice vision for the NCAAP, not sure about the gas lamp!
I'm guessing that it's heading towards the Green Lanes junction and the houses are those on the south side. I could be wrong but some of the houses there today look very similar.
Oh, and the church possibly the old Trinity at Bowes
This is definitely taken from here: http://goo.gl/maps/ubVd6
It's the Arnos Grove end of Bowes Road as far as I can make out.
