Delighted to report that they have moved it to nearly the top shelf. With women in the sex industry having rates of STD and murder 12 times the average, the risk of people trafficking and the fact that many have been sexually abused as children I am still unsure this is a good idea but at least they have moved it up. Anyone else have a view?

Ps. I don't think "Adults guide" (what ever that is, I'm not from the UK) has anything to do at all in a post office, but that's another story...

I entirely agree Sophia - it is basically where to find prostitutes, lapdancing clubs etc. We know that women working in the sex industry endure appalling working conditions - it's similar to sending small children up chimneys or down mines and should go the same way in my view. But we live in a free country so I just try to raise awareness where I can. Supermarkets mostly now put this stuff in plastic wrappers which is a step forward I suppose.

I agree. In the UK we tolerate cards in newsagents and adverts in local papers advertising prostitution even though its dangers are well known. If you want to know more, www.object.org.uk and www eavesforwomen.org.uk (whose director got an OBE for services to vulnerable women) are good organisations to look at. Or maybe we should ask the post office to remove the lads mags and the adult guide?
