A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
1953 A not so elegant Shaftesbury Hall played host to a number of events to celebrate the coronation.
This included a fancy dress competition for children.
My sister and I were presented as Sir Walter Raleigh and Elizabeth 1st.
I also remember near to hear was a smelly stream where when we could escape we fished with a net for minnows and sticklebacks. Great fun and no cost.
