Whilst there is no shortage of road signs on or around the North Circular Road this one, where Brownlow Road meets the A406, is something of a rarity.
in 1963 the Warboys Commission set about standardising road signage and developed the format we are now familiar with across the UK and indeed much of Europe. However a few examples of older signs - dating from before the early 1960's- still exist, either because they have been protected as a part of historical landscape ... or more likely they have just been forgotten about by the local council.
