Our local tube stations were opened on September 19th 1932 as part of the Piccadilly Line extension to Arnos Grove.
The following year the line was extended again via Southgate to Cockfosters.

I was once told that the Bounds Green Industrial Estate (The Ringway N11) sits on top of the mountain of spoil from excavating the tunnels for the Piccadilly Line extension.  It's certainly a bit of a climb up to the industrial estate from the north west end of Bounds Green Road, near the junction with the North Circ.  But looking at the OS map, I see that the contours continue to climb in the same direction over a larger area - so maybe I was having my leg pulled!
