Brian Moore outside his shop which was previously owned by his father George and has been in Myddleton Road for 60 years. George used to work for Austin Reed tailors in the 1950's and worked in the Southampton- New York liners for a number of years.

Great photos, I do wonder why the shirts are still in the window of this shop, is it still even open? All the shirts are really dirty, looks like a creepy film set, as does the little girl mannequin at Naxos clothing on the High Road, gives me the creeps when I have to take a late night stroll to Tesco!

The story of the shop is told in this audio interview recorded last year with Brian Moore (pictured above).
A thoughtful reflection on this shop was also recently published on Peter Berthoud's Blog: Discovering London well worth a read.
Once again, well done for unearthing an absolute gem of a picture. I love George Moore's Menswear and think it adds so much to the charm of the area, but is there anything that could be done to persuade Brian to look after his shop a bit more? Sadly, the building looks on its last legs but with a bit of work it could be a feature of the area for years to come as it has some beautiful period features that could yet be restored and repaired.
If Richard took another Myddleton Road set of photos would it look as interesting and diverse?
