A lament for the lost bizarre bits of Bowes Park

Noticing yesterday that the Naxos girl had vanished from her High Road window, I began to lament the loss of quirky things in our area.

London's most interesting underpants are long disposed of (unless Nick preserved them?)

Ovi the Dinosaur vanished last year

Still, Tortoise Man is still by Finsbury Gardens!

And we've gained The Step, La Coppia, Killick Stores, Like the Wind magazine, Domipol, Hellenic Gourmet, Giants Gym, La Coppia, Myddleton Road Market, Lucas Bros, Renaissance, a Czech microbrewery is coming .... and lots of other improvements like Mum's windows and new shopfronts.

But so long, Naxos girl.

Time to create some new myths and oddities for Bowes Park?

Rest assured that Tortoise Man is in good hands. I only just found out about Ovi - and just realised that he should be sitting right above me!

Oh, and those infamous labels have been preserved by the patient and fabulous Rachel. Indeed, she aired them all out, dusted them off, and turned them into cards, now for sale in my shop. They are still bringing smiles to many a face.

I think that one of Ovi's claws is left behind :(

Great to hear about the cards, I'll pop in and take a look!
