Bowes Park Community Garden - by Sarah Harris

The Bowes Park Community Garden is located in Myddleton Road.  It is run by a sub-group of the Bowes Park
Community Association.  We have a gardening session on the first Saturday of the month from 11am when we tidy, prune and plant to make sure that this tranquil garden is an attractive place for relaxation and enjoyment.

In July 2010 we were awarded a Green Pennant as part of the Green Flag Award scheme (watch the video).  This award recognises well-managed green spaces run by community groups.

The highlight of the year is our community picnic in June - this year we had morris dancers, a magician, guitar players, face-painting as well as plant and cake stalls.  The picnic next year will be on Sat 11 June.  We will be holding a pre-picnic fund-raising fair on Sat 2nd April at 128 Myddleton Road.

A brave group of singers went carol-singing outside Bowes Park Station on Thursday 16 December and raised £47 for Garden funds.
