A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
I've noticed a few nice bits of brickwork when I struggle around the block... I think these patterns all have proper names in the building business and maybe somebody knows about them?
These bricks below are on the corner of The Drive and, I think, Blake Road. I think they look really lovely, and someone's gone to the trouble to create something a bit special.
And there's a couple more round the corner too.
Further up, going towards Muswell Hill, along Colney Hatch Lane, I came across these lovely brick arches at ground level, patched together with all kinds of irregular stones. I wonder how old these are? There's some drainage holes/pipes in one of these.
I swear I'm not trying to qualify for Most Boring Blog Page of the Year - honestly! :)
Not boring at all. Thanks Kathleen, for sharing your observations.
Hello Anne! Thanks for your nice comment. Next week it's manhole covers (Just kidding!) :) Then again....
Ha Ha - The Manhole cover post has already been done here ... although aren't we supposed to call them Person Hole covers these days? ...
Nice photo! Nope, you wouldn't get me down one of those - so Manhole is fine by me!
