It will advise them of our desire to implement - as per the mandate we have received - a "modified option 3" whereby the right turn from Warwick to the NCR would be closed (at least at certain times of the day), with the left turn from York to Brownlow also being closed.
Note that these two actions are linked: we want to get the rat-runners off Warwick; but we don't want them to go onto York.
The letter will also ask TFL to again allow both the right turn on the westbound Bounds Green road, turning north at the Telford junction; and above all the right turn on the eastbound NCR turning south on Brownlow.
Finally, it will lay out a few options for the Warwick/NCR junction: that TFL install a yellow box and a traffic camera in any event; but also the possibility of permanent island.
The officers will write their officer counterparts at TFL. Achilleas, Yasemin and Alan will write our political counterparts at the London Assembly.
2. Officers are preparing a letter to Haringey Council
It will communicate our request that the left turn on the eastbound Bounds Green road turning north at the Brownlow junction (in front of Bounds Green tube) be allowed again. The argument put forward will focus on the pedestrian safety argument (including the possibility of moving the crossing about 20 yards north on Brownlow to maximise safety).
The officers will write their officer counterparts at Haringey. Achilleas, Yasemin and Alan will write our political counterparts there.
3. Enfield level actions
Work will be started on Warwick Rd removing two unwanted features and adding two pinch points plus trees.
NOTE THAT BEFORE ANY OF THE MEASURES IS IMPLEMENTED, A "TRAFFIC ORDER"/OFFICIAL PUBLIC CONSULTATION MUST TAKE PLACE, MEANING THAT RESIDENTS WILL HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE TO HAVE A SAY ON THE FINAL SCHEMES AND FEATURES
