Here is something we just put on the website

Dear Councillor
Tree planting in Marlborough Road N22
Thank you for your email dated 28 June 2013 regarding tree planting issues in the Bowes Ward area, in particular Marlborough Road N22.
Enfield last removed a tree in Marlborough Road N22 some two years ago. The majority of the road and the trees within it fall within the boundary of Haringey Council; therefore it is possible that they removed trees they had responsibility for.
I can confirm that the Bowes Ward as a whole formed a high priority area for the 2013/14 Winter Planting Program and was thoroughly surveyed by Tree Officers. At that time all suitable available sites within the area were identified and utilised and have since been planted. To ensure that Marlborough Road has not been overlooked, we have added the road to our list for consideration as part of next Winter’s Planting Programme. We will survey and utilise all suitable available locations within the road.
Regarding the gaps identified by one of the residents, not all sites that once accommodated trees are suitable for new tree planting. This is due to numerous reasons such as underground services, newly installed lamp columns, new dropped kerbs for footway crossovers, etc.
I hope this answers your enquiry.
Yours sincerely
Stephen Skinner
Head of Highway Services
