On November 18th between 1.15 pm and 6.00pm Enfield Climate Action Forum, the social justice group LocalMotion and the Co-op Membership Engagement Team are holding a Community Hub to discuss some of the major issues that affect local people in Palmers Green and the surrounding areas.
The Palmers Green Mosque have kindly offered us the use of the Education Centre which has great facilities and opportunities for breakout rooms.
They like us want to make this an interfaith event and indeed one of the first sessions will be on Interfaith and Climate Change and its impact on many aspects of our lives including health.
We would very much like your church and your members to be involved in this and hope this can be a springboard for further discussion and action in the near future.
At the end of the day, we also have a session on food poverty and food banks with young people involved in presenting this. I know many churches do great work in addressing food poverty and it would be great if you could be involved in that, And to conclude we have the UK Youth Delegate to COP28 who will answer questions from young g people about what they would want of COP28 to safeguard their future.
This will be an afternoon of critical issues and I attach our flyer below so you can see the timings.
I do hope that you can be involved so that we can make this not just a community event but a multi-faith one as well.
Have a look around at what’s already on the site and please do join in with the conversations - or start your own. You can upload photographs or add details of relevant local events and invite people to attend. In addition there are several pages of local information in our resources section.
We send out a weekly e-mail update of what's new - you can read the latest edition online.
Remember, everything you write is public, including comments on other people’s pages.
It’s always nice to put a face to a name so, please upload a profile picture, the Help Page explains how. If you use other social networks you can visit our Facebook Page and follow us on Twitter.
