Greener City Fund Community Green Space Grants

Applications are now open for round three of the Community Green Space Grants.

Apply for a grant

Do you want to create or improve a green space in your community, and improve Londoners' access to nature? Do you want to make your entire neighbourhood greener? Or do you want to green your school playground to improve air quality and create space for natural play?

We're looking for projects across the capital that will make our city greener and give Londoners the chance to get involved.

Applications close at 5pm on Monday 30 September 2019. Projects should take place between January and December 2020.

The Community Green Space grants offer funding between £5,000 and £50,000. For smaller projects, Groundwork's Our Space Award offers grants up to £5,000. This year, we have provided additional funds to the Our Space Award for turning grey, hard landscaping areas, into greener spaces

Hmm, perhaps this will go the same way as the "pocket parks" of 2012/2013?

Pocket Parks - any suggestions for new open spaces locally?

Yes Richard, got really good news on that score.

Notting Hill Housing Trust - perhaps feeling guilty after having pushed through what we consider an oversized development scheme - has a space in the middle of Tewkesbury Terrace that they won't be building upon.

They've asked us (Bowes Labour councillors) to organise its management and we're starting the process. First stop is to ask very local residents if they want to form a bespoken Friends Group. We're in the process of doing that as we speak.

So Alan has now moved on to "greener pastures" and what happened to our Bowes Labour councillors who were to organise its management who were starting the process?

August 3rd 2019 and still a derelict site - all forgotten about ........... again.
