Steam locomotive photo-bombs family portrait near Palace Gates railway station, Wood Green – 1961

The engine is Class N7 0-6-2 tank locomotive No.69693. I think I snaffled this (and several other) images from the short-lived Palace Gates Facebook page that my own FB page eventually superseded. I’m looking for the photographer/owner of this wonderful period image to step forward to take full credit and tell us more about the family/context, or anyone else who recognises the family.

Apparently the family lived on Park Avenue, and it was taken on west side of the embankment that overlooks Wolseley Road N22 just south of the former site of the station. This embankment that runs from Park Avenue to Station Road is now preserved by volunteers as a beautiful hurst of trees but, unfortunately, with no public access.
