If you love birds,

then the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds "Big Garden Birdwatch" is your chance to do something that really counts.

All you need is a pen, some scrap paper (or, a printout of the RSPB handy bird ID sheet), and an hour to spend watching the birds in your garden on either Saturday 28, or Sunday 29 January 2012.

It doesn't have to be at home - how about seeing which birds visit the Community Garden in Myddleton Road - or how many feathered friends frequent Finsbury Gardens?

Then simply record the highest number of each bird species seen in your garden, or local park (not flying over) at any one time, and tell RSPB what you saw.
