Event Description
• 14:00 - 16:00 Workshop of Chinese Painting conducted by Ms Wen Wu.
• 14:00 - 16:00 Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Handcrafting, Chinese dinner set display, Chinese Language Demonstration etc. Dough figurine making demonstrated by Mrs Wendy Wang; Origami (paper folding) demonstrated by Ms Dandan Han; Mandarin taught by Ms Christine Rathbone.
Free admission; no advanced booking is needed. Free gifts - calendar, recipe booklet, and seasonal greeting cards - for lecture audience!

Wen Wu is a London-based painter interested in beauty and constructs of beauty. Wen has spent many years obsessing over the feminine ideal, drawing much inspiration from the classical western oil paintings which she had access to growing up in China.
Wen's artworks are influenced by the work of 17th Century Baroque artists;especially Velasquez, Caravaggio and the Caravaggio School. Wen draws many references from these classical oil painting.
Wen Wu's portrait Venus as a Boy is currently on show at the National Portrait Gallery's BP Portrait Award 2011 exhibition.
Wen also commits herself to charity work promoting Chinese arts and culture especailly Chinese Painting and Calligraphy.

About Bruce Castle
Bruce Castle is a 16th century manor house in Tottenham. Originally known as "Lordship House", there has been such a building on or near this site since the early medieval period. Bruce Castle is now a Grade I listed building and houses the London Borough of Haringey's archives and local history museum.
