Event Description

Friends of Alexandra Park presents....

Leaves are coming out, flowers are coming out, but some trees will still be in hibernation. We will take a stroll and inspect the arrival of Spring. Elm flowers are some of the first to emerge and they may even be finished by the time the walk starts.

We plan to start the walk with a look at the trees just below the South Terrace (certainly flowers to be seen!) before heading towards the Eastern Arboretum - the area around the Rose Garden and we will take a look at some of the new trees planted by the Go-Ape constructions.

Depending on time, we may dip into the Blandford Area and we plan to finish by the Lakeside Cafe.

If you want to look up some of the trees in advance (do some homework). Some of the slight less known trees that we will look at will be Bird Cherry, Yellow Buckeye, Wych Elm, Weeping Ash and Red Oak.

We will be leaving the paths, so please come suitably shod.

Meet at the BBC Tower.
