Event Description

See things invisible to the naked eye, like diatoms, which are minute organisms in water contained in a glass shell. That's one illustrated above.  (And they were featured in last Sunday's Countryfile on BBC1).  You can also explore the world of tiny bugs, and the plastic fibres which unfortunately are everywhere.   Three experts are bringing their microscopes to the Park Visitor Centre to show us things most of us have never seen before.  And all the specimens we look at will be collected in the Park.
But if microscopes are not your thing, you can have a great afternoon tracking down bugs and flowers with the Scavenge Hunt, see if you can match leaves to  trees. and test your map reading skills on the Xplorer course.

Free to all.  At the Park Visitor Centre in the Grove.

In case you are wondering, the diatom above is less than a tenth of a millimetre across.
