Malcolm Earle-Smith (trombone/vox), Dan Berkson (piano), Sam Ingvorsen (bass), Dave Wickins (drums)
Trombonist and vocalist Malcolm Earle Smith has been well established on the London jazz scene for over 20 years.
After graduating from the Guildhall in 1989 he joined the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and since then has gone on to work with Kenny Baker, Jack Parnell, Digby Fairweather, Martha Reeves and Ronnie Spector.
A multi-faceted jazz musician, Malcolm is not only widely respected in the fields of classic jazz and swing, but is also a very accomplished improviser in bop and more contemporary idioms. His broad musical approach has enabled him to perform with a variety of artists including Kenny Baker, Liam Noble and Bryan Ferry, as well as developing a distinctive voice of his own. He has a broad and inclusive approach to jazz education, and is currently Lecturer in Jazz at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London.
More recently he is a member of the Basin Street Brawlers, and leads Three Way Stretch, a contemporary trio with pianist Liam Noble and drummer Dave Wickins.

Karamel is a unique vegan space in the heart of Wood Green’s Cultural Quarter and is the centre point of the Chocolate Factory studios, where you can enjoy good quality fresh, affordable and hearty breakfasts, and world food lunchtime buffets, inspired by our top chefs’ travels. Our highly acclaimed all day vegan Sunday roast has been going down a storm for over 3 years, and we have recently won the Time Out London 2018 Award for best restaurant in Wood Green.
Karamel is a vegan haven for arts, performances, music and food. By day we are a café/bar with local artist exhibitions, and by evening (Thu-Sat) we host eclectic and varied music and performances with a range of vegan food to match the evening.
We aim to satisfy the most critical beer drinker with our offering of a good range of quality and refreshing craft beers from local or micro-breweries on tap
