For the first time, Christ Church Southgate and the Minchenden Oak Garden form part of Open House London.

Explore our fine Grade II* listed church, designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the early English architectural style. Absorb the detail in our collection of beautiful Pre-Raphaelite stained glass windows spanning 50 years of output from the studio of William Morris & Company, including designs by Burne Jones, Philip Webb and Rossetti, including a unique “self portrait” of William Morris himself.

After touring the church, please visit The Minchenden Oak Garden, next to the church, which contains one of the country’s oldest tress – an ancient pollarded oak more than 800 years old.

The weekend will conclude with a special service of Choral Evensong at 6.30pm on Sunday. The Choir of Christ Church Southgate will be joined by the choir of Waltham Abbey Church.  All are welcome to attend.

In 2015 we celebrate our 400th Anniversary - the Weld Chapel, the precursor to our current building, was consecrated in May 1615.
